Adaptational Badass: Luz, being a Jedi Padawan who fought in the Clone Wars is a far cry from where her canon counterpart was at at the start, with her Force powers, lightsaber skills, military experience and athletic abilities making her a very dangerous opponent even before she starts learning magic, especially since in addition to her lightsaber, she also comes equipped with a DC-15 blaster, and several grenades, both of the EMP and thermal variety.Adaptational Backstory Change: Rather than being a regular if somewhat strange Earth girl, here Luz is a Jedi Padawan, specifically an aspiring Jedi Sentinel (Jedi who preferred a life of service working directly with the everyday citizens rather than staying in the Temple) and a survivor of Order 66.
